Consideration of a Proposed World Heritage Emblem Type du document Décision Numéro de référence XI.(a).53 Date Sep 5, 1978 SourceUNEP, InforMEA Statut active Sujet Espèces sauvages et écosystèmes Traité Convention concernant la protection du patrimoine mondial, culturel et naturel (Nov 23, 1972) Réunion 2e session du Comité Site web whc.unesco.org Résumé The Committee examined the proposed designs very carefully. The delegate of Yugoslavia emphasized that the choice of an emblem was of great importance. The emblem would symbolize for future generations the principles embodied in the Convention. The Committee felt that the proposed emblem fully satisfied the criteria of universality and simplicity, and conveyed the essential objectives of the Convention. Consequently it decided to adopt the emblem in its two graphic versions both to be used, in any colour, depending on the use to be made of them, the technical possibilities and considerations of an artistic nature.
