Budget and Workplan

The Conference: Recalling that Article 14, paragraph 1 of the Convention provides that the regular budget of the Conference of Parties, as required in Articles 15 and 16 of the Convention, shall be prepared by the Secretariat and approved by the Conference Considering the Financial Rules for the administration of the Bamako Convention on the Ban of the Import into Africa and the Control of Transboundary Movement and Management of Hazardous Wastes within Africa (Bamako Convention) adopted by the first session of the Conference of Parties; Noting the adoption by the Conference of the scale of assessments for the year 2014 Considering the draft Work Plan and Budget for the year 2014 submitted to the Conference by the Interim Secretariat; Hereby: 1. Adopts the Work Plan and Budget for the year 2014. Annexed hereto (Annexes I and II); 2. Requests States Parties to pay their contributions in full within forty five thirty days of the receipt of the communication from the Executive Secretary requesting the payment of contributions. 3. Requests the Technical Secretariat to develop, in collaboration with the Scientific and Technical Advisory Committee and other relevant national, regional and international bodies qualified in fields related to hazardous wastes, a detailed Plan of Activities to implement the present Work Plan.
