It prescribes conditions for fishing nets, provides for close seasons, prohibits fishing during a 24 hour period on Saturday and Sunday, and promotes the use for captive breeding of reproductive material taken from fish caught. The Convention requires each party to determine a minimum size of fish which may be taken. Each party must designate a representative for the purpose of the Convention. The representatives will exchange information and meet from time to time to discuss measures to be taken for the promotion of the salmon fishery of the Rhine.
