This Agreement creates a framework for cooperation between the Parties in the field of environmental protection. The Parties shall make available, upon request, any advisors and services in any fields such as air, soil and water, including marine water, pollution, observation and monitoring of environmental quality, improvement of the urban environment, economic and administrative aspects of environmental protection, and other areas agreed by the Parties (art. III). Cooperation may take the form of joint programmes, exchange of non-proprietary information, conferences, exchange of experts, etc. (art. IV). Other articles provide for release of information, funding, intellectual property, project matters, laws applicable to activities, entry into force, duration, and termination.
