Agreement between the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics and Afghanistan on locust control on the territory of the Parties

СОГЛАШЕНИЕ между Правительством Союза Советских Социалистических Республик и Правительством Его Величества Короля Афганистана о борьбе с саранчой на территории Договаривающихся Сторон

The Parties have agreed to prepare and carry out by their own efforts the arrangements for combating locust on the proper territories especially in the borderland areas (art. 1). Arrangements for combating locust the Parties shall intend: a) spring verifying registration of locusts’ buried eggs; b) extermination activity; c) observation of locust swarming and summer registration of locusts’ buried eggs; d) training of specialists (art. 2). Anti-locust arrangements shall be carried out by chemical and also, in case of necessity, by mechanical means (art. 4).
