In exercising any power or performing any function under this Act, a person is to take into account the desirability of (i) minimising the harmful effect of weeds on the sustainability of Tasmania's productive capacity, natural ecosystems and biodiversity; and (ii) promoting a strategic and sustainable approach to weed management; and (iii) encouraging community involvement in weed management; and (iv) promoting the sharing of responsibility for weed management.
