The watershed improvement program is established in the department of water resources of Arizona under the authority of the director for the purpose of selective control, reduction or removal of noxious brush and other vegetation and for the revegetation of land on which brush and vegetation has been controlled, reduced or removed. The watershed improvement program may provide funding for projects that are designed to control, reduce or remove brush from a watershed or a portion of a watershed, consistent with the purposes of the program.
