Resumen This Regulation is composed of 15 articles. Articles 1 and 2 deals with terms and definitions. Article 3 entrusts the Ministry of Environment to cooperate with concerned authorities to take necessary measures for carrying out laboratory analyses and defining the suitability of water for the aimed and designed uses and objectives. Article 4 entrusts the Ministry of Environment to lay the environmental conditions and requirements for licensing developmental projects according to the Environmental Impact Assessment Regulation in order to protect water resources against pollution. Article 5 prohibits the creation of any sewerage system unless a previous authorization from the Ministry of Environment. Article 6 prohibits the creation of dumps or treatment stations for waste disposal unless a previous authorizations from the Ministry of Environment. Article 7 prohibits the drainage and discharge of waste waters which are incompatible with Jordanian Standardization and Metrology standards. Article 8 prohibits the use substances in the treatment, disinfection and transportation of water, or in the conservation of potable and mineral water unless a previous authorization from the Ministry of Environment. Article 9 prohibits the establishment of projects for the production of drinking and mineral waters without receiving a previous authorization from the Ministry of Environment. Article 11 entrusts the Ministry of Environment, in cooperation with concerned authorities, to define and lay down environmental requirements for gathering, transportation and storage of wastes. Article 12 defines obligations of industries producers of waste waters. Article 15 entrusts the Minister of Environment to issue the necessary implementing regulations.
