It establishes composition, duties and responsibilities of the above mentioned Authority entitled to perform the following activities: a) to promote sustainability and responsibility in fishing and fishing-related activities in Victoria; b) to optimise the social, cultural and economic benefits of the fisheries sectors; c) to support the development of recreational fishing; d) to support the development of commercial fishing and aquaculture; e) to work cooperatively with fisheries management bodies in other States, in Territories and the Commonwealth; and f) to perform its functions and exercise its powers in any manner it considers best achieves its objectives.
