Sheep and goats are admitted to the territory of the Russian Federation on condition that they have not been fed by feedstuffs containing additives composed of internal organs and tissues of ruminants by feedstuffs produced with the use of genetically modified additives or other genetically modified sources. Sheep and goats selected for export to the Russian Federation must be confined for at least 21 days to special quarantine stations in the exporting country and must be kept under observation for the whole period of confinement by the representatives of the Veterinary department of the Russian Ministry of Agriculture and Food. During the quarantine the total number of animals must pass clinical examination with daily thermotherapy. The compliance with these Veterinary and sanitary requirements must be certified by veterinary certificate, signed by the state veterinary inspector of the exporting country and composed in the language of the country of origin and in Russian. Dispatch of sheep and goats to the Russian Federation is possible only after the authorization issued to the importer by Veterinary Department of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food.
