Resumen

The purpose of the present Act is: a) to prevent pollution and protect human health and the environment by reducing the use and creation of toxic substances; and b) to inform Ontarians about toxic substances. The Act also aims to foster innovations in green chemistry and green engineering to make manufacturing and mineral processing safer. Moreover, the Act supports the development of alternative products and processes. The text - consisting of 50 sections – deals with the following aspects: Toxic Substance Reduction Plans, toxic substances accounting, reports, inspection, appeal, tribunals.
