The Order prohibits any person, without specific authorisation, from removing any banana, plantain, heliconia, ginger lily or any other plants of the heliconiaceae family, weeds, plant parts or plant products into or out of any infected area; and from planting or replanting banana or plantain within any infected area. The Order specifies: actions to be taken in case of suspected presence of the pest within an area; measures concerning transport of fruits and other products of banana plants; duties and powers of the Chief Plant Quarantine Officer to control the spread of the pest, including disinfection and destruction of infected plants; penalties in case of misconduct.
