Resumen This Act provides for declaration that places in which any part of the Forces are quartered to be a cantonment and a Board shall be formed for the administration of such cantonment. The Cantonment Board shall be deemed to be a municipality under clause (e) of article 243P of the Constitution for the purposes of receiving grants and allocations; or implementing the Central Government schemes. The Cantonment Board shall be responsible, inter alia, for providing sufficient supply of potable water and guarding from pollution water used for human consumption; constructing and maintaining streets, culverts, bridges, markets, slaughter-houses, latrines, privies, urinals, drains, drainage works and sewerage works and regulating their use; planting and maintaining trees on roadsides and other public places.
