Resumen The present Act lays down provisions relating to the acquisition of surface rights to land and the determination and payment of compensation. In particular, the purposes of the Act are: a) to provide for a comprehensive procedure for acquiring surface rights; b) to provide for the payment of just and equitable compensation for the acquisition of surface rights; c) to provide for the maintenance and reclamation of the surface of land acquired in connection with surface rights acquired under this Act. The present Act consists of 95 sections divided into 9 Parts as follows: Purpose and application of Act (I); Board of Arbitration (II); Mediation Officer (III); Acquisition of surface rights for well sites, roadways, battery sites and power lines (IV); Acquisition of surface rights for flow lines and service lines (V); Abandonment, surrender and restoration (VI); Liability for tortuous Acts (VII); Functions and duties of mediation officer (VIII); Appeal (IX).
