Entry into force notes
This Decree enters into force the day after its publication in the Official Gazette.
Resumen

This Decree consisting of 18 articles aims at regulating the Public Authority for Stores and Food Reserve, established by Royal Decree No.62/1980 to provide basic food commodities, and to assure their storage in warehouses of high technical specifications, and ensure that basic commodities and food are available in cases of emergency, such as exceptional and abnormal climatic storms and hurricanes. For this purpose, the main tasks of the Authority are (i) prepare and implement the food security strategy, and submit periodic reports to the Ministers' Council; (ii) develop national policies and legislations related to food security; (iii) establish an integrated national food security information system; (iv) store basic commodities and foodstuffs; and (v) develop a movement system for the commodity stock to keep it in good condition. The Authority shall have a Board of Directors, headed by the Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries, with management or organizational tasks. The Decree deals also with tasks of the executive officer, Board meetings and financial issues.
