Entry into force from the date of its official publication.
Resumen

The present Subsoil Code establishes the modalities of management, use and protection of subsoil, i.e. the part of the earth’s crust accessible in depth for geological exploration and use. The document consists of IX Secs. that contain 51 Arts. Section I (arts. 1-20) lays down general provisions. Section II (Arts. 21-28) regards geological study of subsoil. Section III (Arts. 29-30) regards projecting, construction and putting in operation of mineral extraction and mineral processing industries and underground plants not related to mineral extraction. Section IV (Arts. 31-35) regards use of subsoil for prospecting of mineral deposits and for purposes not related to mineral extraction. Section V (Arts. 36-41) regards protection of subsoil. Section VI (Arts. 42-44) regards state registration of the stock and deposits of minerals, and of the plots of land conceded for use not related to mineral extraction. Section VII (Arts. 45-47) regards state survey over the use and protection of subsoil. Section VIII (Arts. 48-50) regards dispute settlement and establishes liability for the infringement of the legislation on subsoil. Section IX (art. 51) regards international cooperation.
