The State Pedigree Service is the system of managing bodies authorized to carry out supervision over pedigree stockbreeding and pedigree poultry breeding. The main tasks of the State Pedigree Service shall be: 1) improvement of the productive and technological qualities of agricultural animals and poultry, and also fur-bearing animals, fishes and insects utilized for the improvement of agricultural production, rational use of pedigree resources; 2) selection of the new high productive breeds of agricultural animals and poultry; 3) animal husbandry and artificial insemination. The function of the State Pedigree Service shall be: 1) procurement and trade of pedigree resources, registration and certification thereof; 2) carrying out common state policy in the sphere of pedigree stockbreeding; 3) international cooperation.
