Resumen

This Ordinance of Sint Maarten, being part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, provides rule for the supply of water intended for human consumption. It applies to drinking water regardless of its origin and regardless of whether the water is supplied via a public or internal pipeline network or whether it comes from a separate water supply, from a tanker or from a tanker. It does not apply to bottled water. Small, non-commercial water supply and supply of water intended for purposes for which the quality of the water has no direct or indirect influence on the health of the consumers concerned may be exempted from provisions of this Ordinance by Decree. The Minister of public Health, labour and Social Affairs is responsible for establishing and maintaining a sound and sustainable supply of drinking water for all residents that complies with the rules laid down by or pursuant to this Ordinance. the Minister shall involve the Inspector-General in decisions regarding the quality of drinking water. Drinking water may only be produced or distributed with a concession or permit from the Minister. The Ordinance sets out conditions and procedures for such concession or permit and sets out quality standards for drinking water.
