Resumen

The Act consists of 7 Sections that contain 28 articles. The main purposes of standardization are: 1) establishment of norms, regulations and requirements for produce; 2) ensuring safety of produce for human health and environment; 3) conservation and rational use of all types of resources. Normative documents for standardization of produce subject to compulsory certification must contain compliance requirements, rules of labelling and packaging of produce and information on certification. Requirements established by state standards for ensuring safety of produce for human health and environment and unification of labelling are compulsory for state administration, natural and legal persons irrespectively of the form of property. Technical regulations are normative documents adopted in accordance with the present Act by state administrative bodies competent to set compulsory requirements (sanitary and veterinary norms and regulations, mining survey, nuclear, ecological and radiation safety), intergovernmental and state standards in the part of compulsory requirements.
