Resumen

This Act concerns the development of small and medium-sized enterprises and for this purpose establishes the Small and Medium Scale Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria and its Governing Board. The Act defines powers and functions of the Agency and provides with respect to its administration and operation. The Agency shall, among other things: promote and facilitate development programmes, instruments and support services to accelerate development, modernisation, networking and linkage of small and medium scale industries; mobilise internal and external resources, including technical assistance for small and medium scale industries, their support institutions, trade associations, and non-governmental organization; oversee, coordinate and monitor development in the small and medium industries sub-sector; design and promote cottage and micro small and medium-scale industrial projects; and provide extension services.
