Resumen These Regulations lay down the employment standards of a seafarer who is the holder of a valid medical fitness certificate, in a ship in a Jamaican port or Jamaican waters. Third Regulation sets forth the obligation to employ only seafarers with a valid medical fitness certificate in a ship carrying chemicals in bulk. Fourth Regulation lists the types of employment which are not in the scope of these Regulations. The medical practitioner shall be responsible for the refusal, imposition of a restriction, suspension or cancellation of medical fitness certificate. In accordance with the Thirteenth Regulation, an inspector duly authorized by the Director may inspect any foreign ship when the ship is in a Jamaican port.
