The Determination defines forestry operations as activities related to planting, growing, tending and harvesting of trees and involving: commercial timber growers, all transportation within the sector, a domestic worker employed in a home on a plantation where forestry activities take place, a security guard employed to guard a plantation or other premises where forestry activities are conducted. The Determination covers the following matters: remuneration, minimum wages and tax-based payments; particulars of employment; hours of work, including emergency work and extension of ordinary hours of work; leave, for sanitary, family responsibility, maternity reasons; prohibition of child labour and forced labour; termination of employment; maintenance and protection of natural forests.
