Resumen This Resolution is composed of 10 articles. Production, preparation, examination and exportation of potatoes to the European Union shall be in compliance with the attached Regulation (art. 1). The Ministry of External Trade and Industry can limit the loading of potatoes for export to the European Union to defined ports (art. 2). The Committee for the Regulation and Exportation of Potatoes provided for in Resolution No. 95 of 2000 shall apply to the attached Regulation (art. 3). The Egyptian Quarantine Authority shall verify that the potatoes for export are pest-free from the brown mould (art. 5). Articles 6 to 9 deal with liability of the Quarantine Authority and the exporter in case of discovery of the brown mould, and the legal and administrative proceedings to be taken against them. The attached Regulation contains: (a) the authorized exporters; (b) requirements and conditions for the exported potatoes; (c) the measures and arrangements related to the cultivation of potatoes in the adopted area destined to the exportation; (d) field control of the crops and sampling; (e) the measures related to the preparation of potatoes destined to the exportation; (f) the quality control measures on the exportations; and (g) the exportation.
