The Nile River with its streams, dams, banks, coasts, sides, plots and islands that go from Sudan to the Mediterranean Sea, represents a vital facility for transportation, management and preservation of water (art. 1). The Nile River is under the control of the Ministry of Irrigation and Water Resources (art. 2). All works and activities related to the Nile River are subjected to the control and supervision of the Ministry of Irrigation and Water Resources (art. 3). All Ministries, General Authorities and Apparatuses shall not be authorized to sell or undertake works in any of the zones mentioned in Article 1 unless with the approval of the Cabinet (art. 5). The Ministry of Irrigation and Water Resources, according to laws in force, has the right to take the necessary measures against transgressors and violators of the aforementioned provisions (art. 6).
