Requirements and conditions for the importation of bees are: (a) a certificate of origin signed by the competent authority and from the Syrian Arab Republic Embassy containing the bred variety; (b) a veterinary certificate signed from the veterinary authority of the country of origin and from the Syrian Arab Republic Embassy; (c) Bees and queens should be disease-free; (d) beeswax should be fresh; (e) the queen should not be older than 6 months; and (f) inspection of the consignment at the crossing point by the Apiculture Department and by the Animal Health Department. The importation of bee honey should respect the following requirements and conditions: (a) a certificate of origin signed by the competent authority and by the Syrian Arab Republic Embassy; (b) the consignment must be compatible with the Syrian Arab Republic Standardization and Metrology standards No. 412 of 1987 and its amendments; (c) a veterinary certificate signed from the veterinary authority of the country of origin and from the Syrian Arab Republic Embassy; (d) the product must be compatible with the Codex Alimentarius Volume; and (e) honey must be free from diseases, antibiotic residues and pesticides residues. The consignment of queen bee food must respect the following requirements: (a) a certificate of origin signed from the competent authority and from the Syrian Arab Republic Embassy; (b) compatibility with the Syrian Standardization and Metrology standards No. 2036 of 1998; (c) a veterinary certificate signed from the veterinary authority of the country of origin and from the Syrian Arab Republic Embassy; (d) the product must be compatible with the Codex Alimentarius Volume 1; and (e) the product must be free from organic and non-organic substances. Requirements for the importation of beeswax are: (a) a certificate of origin signed from the competent authority and from the Syrian Arab Republic Embassy; (b) beeswax should not contain vegetable, mineral or animal wax; (c) beeswax labels should contain the name of the producer, name and address and trade register of the importer company; (d) a veterinary certificate signed from the veterinary authority of the country of origin and from the Syrian Arab Republic Embassy; and (e) beeswax must be free from diseases, antibiotic residues and pesticides residues. The importation of bees poison requires the following conditions: (a) a certificate of origin signed from the competent authority and from the Syrian Arab Republic Embassy; (b) the product must be compatible with the Codex Alimentarius Volume 1; and (c) a veterinary certificate signed from the veterinary authority of the country of origin and from the Syrian Arab Republic Embassy.
