This Strategy, consisting of several environmental and financial issues completed by five Annexes providing for possible scenarios, has the following main objectives: allowing the maximization of environmental results in a limited financial context, usually focused on the short term, assisting to foresee a period of 5 to 10 years, spending the annual revenues, allowing the development of a comprehensive strategy to implement management objectives set out in Planning and management Plans, and modulate the activity of protected areas within the available resources, which focuses on geography and natural values of the archipelago of Cape Verde. Through the implementation of the National Cape Verde's Protected Areas System, including their protection and maintenance, estimated management and investment costs and revenue sources for funding, as well as in the Biosphere Reserve the islands of Fogo and Santo Antao, analysing the financing gap of the system of protected areas and mapping the Action Plan/Business to implement a coherent and effective financial strategy.
