Resumen These Veterinary and Sanitary Rules for keeping pigeons establish binding legal and physical persons, including individual entrepreneurs, security requirements for work related to the maintenance of animals. The pigeon nursery must have separate rooms for: (a) keeping pigeons; (b) isolation of acquired or sick pigeons (for quarantine); (c) storage of cleaning equipment of the quarantine room; (d) storage of feed and feed additives; (e) storage of detergents and disinfectants; and (f) storage of cleaning equipment in the nursery premises. Floor of the premises of the nursery for keeping and quarantine of pigeons must be sprinkled with sawdust, coarse sand or peat. Bedding thickness must be at least 5 cm. There must be a litter container in the pigeon nursery. Litter disinfection is carried out in accordance with the technical normative legal acts establishing the requirements for conducting disinfection. Pigeons are fed with high quality and safe veterinary sanitary feed. Pigeon feeders should be free from contamination of feedstuffs destined for feeding. Mechanical cleaning and washing of pigeon feeders are carried out at least 1 time in week. Pigeons must be kept clean.
