Resumen These Regulations further provide for a national body for the control of foodstuffs established by Act 1202/92. Section 1 specifies the tasks of the Institute: (1) to carry out laboratory and field research in relation with animal diseases; (2) to purchase or produce vaccines, serums, and diagnostic substances necessary for veterinary surgery; (3) to control and analyse food from animal origin and to control and supervise production and processing and importation and exportation of them; (4) carry out other research. The Institute consists of an Animal Diseases Department, a Department of Superintendency, and a Department of General Affairs (sect. 2).
