Resumen The present Regulations enact section 4 of the Diseases of Animals Act, 1966. In particular, the Regulations lay down provisions relating to the inspection of meat. Section 7 establishes that standards applied to domestic plants will be prescribed by the standards committee and may include requirements in the Canada Meat Inspection Act with respect to the following: a) Ante and post mortem process of meat inspection to assure a meat product from animals free of disease; b) Standards of sanitation adequate to assure a wholesome meat product and satisfactory disposal of all condemned carcasses and portions of carcasses; c) Compliance with the provisions of the Humane Slaughter of Food Animals Act; d) Use of the “Canada Approved” stamp on products of the plant or abattoir.
