Resumen

This Regulation of the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Food, which is composed of 16 articles and three Annexes, lays down minimum measures for the detection, prevention and eradication of bluetongue. Any suspected occurrence of bluetongue should be immediately notified to the Veterinary Administration. In case of a suspicion of bluetongue a veterinarian is obliged without delay to confirm or disprove the suspect and immediately notify the Veterinary Administration and the National Veterinary Institute about any suspicions. Immediately after the official confirmation of the disease there have to be defined the limits of the infected area with a radius of 100 kilometers around the infected holding and the surveillance zone, which extends at least 50 miles over the infected area. It must take into account geographical, administrative, ecological and epidemiological factors of the disease and possible control.
