Resumen

This Regulation aims to promote good animal health in order to ensure health-safe foodstuffs through the survey and control of Salmonella. The Regulations applies to activities where poultry is hatched, kept or slaughtered, activities that produce poultry feed and activities that receive, sort, package and distribute eggs. They also provide rules for laboratories that analyze samples taken as part of the above survey and control. Live poultry that is intended for processing must be examined for Salmonella with a negative result or stem from a business that is covered by the national Salmonella control program or a similar control program. This requirement does not apply to companies that carry out "sanitary slaughter". Hatch eggs that are included used for processing must be examined for Salmonella with a negative result or stem from a business that is covered by the national Salmonella control program or a similar control program. Consumable eggs that are included in the business must come from a business that is covered by the national Salmonella control program or a similar control program. In trade and imports, eggs for consumption must also be followed by a certificate showing that the eggs were laid by poultry examined by the method described in Decision 95/168 / EC with negative result.
