Resumen This Regulation consisting of 41 articles aims at (i) establishing Land Dispute Tribunals (LDTs) in all districts; (ii) setting up a uniform system for settlement of all urban and peri-urban land disputes; (iii) developing an efficient and effective urban land dispute settlement mechanism system that minimizes illegal land grabbing. Regarding the establishment of the LDT by the Minister of Interior, Local Government and Rural Development/Public Works, it is provided that (i) shall be fully independent in the administration of all cases that come into its jurisdiction; (ii) adjudicates disputes over ownership, possession, tenure, use, sale, and transfer of land; (iii) shall have the authority to (a) review and verify evidence submitted to it by parties; (b) investigate, obtain and review evidence it deems necessary; (c) make decisions considered final unless appealed to the Supreme Court; (d) make temporary injunctions to preserve the status quo of the land; (e) request the District Court to enforce these decisions.
