Resumen This Regional Law regulates relations in the sphere of organization, conservation and management of protected areas with a view of ecosystem conservation and maintenance of biosphere sustainability. Protected areas shall be classified as follows: (a) state nature reserves; (b) natural parks; (с) state nature sanctuaries; (в) dendrological parks and botanical gardens; and (у) healthcare areas and spas. Protected areas shall be classified as of federal, regional and local significance. Economic activities can be restricted within the boundaries of protected areas. All the protected areas shall be subject to zoning. State supervision over organization and functioning of protected areas shall be carried out by the authorized state environmental institution. Protected areas shall be subject to mandatory state registration. Violation of legislation on protected areas shall entail penal, administrative and other liability.
