It shall be destined for nature protection, ecological education and recreational purposes. Regional state nature reserve “Landscape reserve Sparrow Hills” shall perform the following tasks: (a) conservation of historical, cultural and natural complexes; (b) protection and reproduction of habitats of wild fauna species, and rare and endangered animal, bird, plant and insect species; (c) scientific research; (d) ecological education; and (e) formation of recreational potential of urban area. The following activities shall be prohibited: a) modification of historically formed protected natural landscape; (b) damage of natural habitats of endangered animal and plant species; (c) soil pollution; (c) waste disposal; (d) damage or unauthorized felling; (e) burning of dry vegetation; (f) gardening, horticulture and smallholding; and (g) performance of work in the period of egg laying and brood time of waterfowl from 1 April to 31 July.
