The scope of quarantine covers the inspection, exclusion, detention, observation, segregation, isolation, protection, treatment, sanitary regulation and disinfection of vessels, persons, goods and things. The Minister of Health and Medical Services shall be charged with the administration of this Act and the enforcement of any rules made thereunder. Quarantinable disease is defined as smallpox, plague, cholera, yellow fever, typhus fever or leprosy or any disease declared by the Minister by order to be a quarantinable disease. The Minister may appoint quarantine officers and other officers for carrying out this Act.
