Animals may be slaughtered only in licensed slaughterhouses. A license shall be granted by the Chief Medical Officer. A license may be revoked or suspended in accordance with regulation 5. The manager or owner or person in charge of the slaughter-house shall give notice in advance to the Health Department of intended slaughter. Regulation 8 provides for inspection of meat and animals whereas regulation 11 provides for inspection of slaughterhouses. Regulation 9 prescribes rules so as to secure humane slaughter.
