Resumen

These Regulations provide with respect to a wide variety of matters affecting public health including, amongst other things, food hygiene and quality, the slaughter and disposal of animals, the pollution of streams, the keeping of animals and the prevention of pollution. The Regulations implement provisions of the Public Health Act. The Chief Medical is the chief executive officer of the Sanitary Authority, and a local authority shall observe and follow sanitary instructions and directions of the Chief Medical Officer. The Regulations make provision for, among other things, the sanitary conditions and registration of bakehouses, milk producers and slaughterhouses; the keeping of swine; water closets and other sanitary arrangements; inspection of food; the prohibition to sell unwholesome or adulterated food; hygienic conditions for the handling of food; littering and other polluting activities. The Authority may declare from time to time any portion or extent of a stream to be a prohibited area for taking or drawing of water for drinking purposes.
