Essentially, they provide that an authorised officer may prohibit or restrict the trade of food products and ready-to-eat foods in and from any location which may pose a danger to health of the consumers and the traders, and for an authorised officer to have the power to prohibit or restrict the trading or vending of food in unsanitary conditions. An authorised officer may order the cleaning or closure of a public premise or burial of any contaminated water body where the authorised officer determines that public premises or a water body does not have sufficient sanitation and hygiene to prevent the occurrence or transmission of COVID-19.
