Resumen

Non-contagious branchionecrosis of fishes (ecological or autogenic toxicosis, ammoniac toxicosis, and branchionecrosis) is fish disease caused mostly by pollution of water reservoirs related to highly intensive fish-farming and discharge of agricultural (animal) and other sewage into fishing water basins. There are two distinguished types of non-contagious branchionecrosis of fishes – exogenic and endogenic. Non-contagious branchionecrosis of fishes is found in carp species, big-mouthed buffalo, silver carp, phytivorous and other fishes of various age groups. Branchionecrosis is found more frequently in brood fishes and baby fishes by the end of winter and in early spring while two-year and three year fishes are infected by it in spring and in summer. The document consists of 5 Secs. Section 1 lays down general provisions. Section 2 regards aetiology. Section 3 regards clinical symptoms and patologo-anatomical changes. Section 4 regards diagnosis. Section 5 specifies arrangements for combating the afore-mentioned disease and prophylaxis.
