Private water bodies are waters which are the exclusive property of any person, or waters in which a person has an exclusive right to fish and are open waters. The Act prohibits fishing in private waters and erecting, placing, maintaining or using any fixed gear in private waters or putting any matter or knowingly permitting to be put in any matters in such waters for the purpose of catching or destroying fish without the permission of the person to whom the right to fish belongs.
