Resumen

This Presidential Regulation provides for defining the organisation and the duties and functions of the Food and Drug Supervisor Agency, in order to protect and improve the quality of life of the people, to increase national competitiveness, and to strengthen institutional supervision in the field of food security. The Regulation concerns the following matters under the Agency’s responsibility: drugs, medicinal substances, narcotics, psychotropics, addictive substances, traditional medicines, health supplements, cosmetics, and processed food; and the tasks of the Agency: preparation and implementation of national Policies, norms, standards and procedures in the field of drug and food control; implementation of supervision before and during transport and circulation of drug and food; implementation of technical guidance and supervision in the field of drug and food control; issuance of permits; conducting of investigations.
