Resumen The President, with a view of cardinal improvement of the management system of the State Veterinary Service, effective organization of work to protect animal health, strengthening state veterinary supervision and improvement of the quality of veterinary services, ensuring epizootic well-being and food safety, creating favorable conditions for the manufacturing of animal products and raw materials, requested and competitive in the domestic and foreign markets, further development of the veterinary service system, decrees to set up the State Veterinary Committee on the basis of the Main State Veterinary Administration under the Ministry of Agriculture and Water Resources of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The State Veterinary Service shall perform the following tasks: (a) implementation of a unified state policy, ensuring the implementation of regulatory and legal supervision in the field of veterinary medicine, coordination of interaction between state and economic management bodies, state authorities in the aforesaid sphere, and the implementation of licensing of veterinary activities; (b) the development of state programs related to the veterinary service, ensuring the protection of the country's territory from the introduction of contagious animal diseases, the introduction of modern methods of prevention of animal diseases and treatment of animals, the production of new species and forms of veterinary drugs based on the implementation of the achievements of domestic and foreign science; (c) monitoring the effectiveness of ongoing work in the provision of epizootic well-being, early detection, diagnosis and prevention of the spread of infectious animal diseases; (d) ensuring state supervision over compliance with the legislation on veterinary medicine, application of measures for the prevention of offences in the field of veterinary medicine; (e) coordination of activities of departmental and production services in the field of protection of animal health against diseases and ensuring the safety of products and raw materials of animal origin; (f) control over the quality and turnover of veterinary medicinal products and feed additives; (g) organization of systematic retraining and advanced training of personnel, perfection of forms and methods of work of managers and specialists, including subordinate structures, increasing their responsibility for timely and high-quality performance of assigned tasks; (h) comprehensive development of scientific, methodological and educational potential in the field of veterinary science and scientific research, coordination of the introduction into the veterinary practice of the results of fundamental and applied research, innovation development; and (i) expansion of international cooperation and introduction of advanced technologies and methods of work in the activities of domestic veterinary services.
