Entry into force notes
The Decree shall enter into force on the day of its publication in the Official Gazette.
Resumen

The provisions of the present Decree establish health requirements which fresh meat must fulfil in the context of intra-Community and third-countries trade. The Decree is divided into three sections. Section A (articles 1-13) lays down health rules and requirements for consignment to Greece, by EC-member counties, of fresh meat intended for human consumption deriving from domestic animals of the following species: bovine animals (including the species Bubalus bubalis and Bison bison), swine, sheep and goats, and domestic solipeds, in compliance with the provisions of Council Directive 91/497/EEC. Section B (articles 14-33) set forth health requirements and restrictions on importation of bovine animals, swine and fresh meat from third countries, in accordance with Council Directive 72/462/EEC, as amended. Section C (articles 34-35) regards provisions for avoiding the spread of animal infectious diseases within the European Community or in third countries. The Decree contains eight Annexes as follows: Annex A, General conditions for the approval of slaughterhouses; Annex B, Specimen public health certificate for fresh meat intended for consignment to Greece; Annexes C and D, Import inspection certificate for fresh meat imported to Greece from third Countries; Annex E, Method for carrying out a trichinoscopic test; Annex F, Requirements for suitably equipped laboratories for carrying out trichinoscopic tests; Annex G, Labelling of meat which has undergone a trichinoscopic test; Annex H, Conditions for the approval of cold stores.
