Resumen

The Act provides for the establishment of the Ports and Marine Services Department and the Marine Services Board (sect. 3), management of harbors and territorial waters, functions of the Director of Ports and Marine Services (sect. 15), pilotage (sects. 24 to 39), accidents and pollution of the marine environment (sects. 40 to 48) and other matters relative to ports and navigation. The Director, on indication of the Board, may remove sunk or stranded vessels that constitute a risk of pollution or danger to the environment (sect. 19). Section 41 defines the liability of an owner of a vessel to pay damage to the Crown for Crown property or the environment. Accidents shall be reported pursuant to section 42.
