Resumen

This Chapter provides for the establishment of the Port Authority of Guam as a public corporation, defines the powers and duties, internal organization and regulates financial arrangements, the Port Authority Police and various other matters relating to the control of ports. The Authority shall be an autonomous body of the government of Guam, which shall provide for the needs of ocean commerce, shipping, recreational and commercial boating, and navigation of the territory of Guam. The Authority shall be directed by the Board and shall have a General Manager. Duties of the Authority are set out in section 4. They include development and maintenance of port facilities, control, manage and have jurisdiction over all government of Guam lands within the boundaries of specified islands, control operators of water terminal properties and adopt pilotage or navigation rules and regulations. There is established, under the direction of the Authority, a Port Authority Police which shall be responsible for the protection of persons and property at the Port Authority of Guam and all related facilities.
