Resumen

This chapter of the Connecticut General Statutes concerns water pollution. It provides that the Department of Public Health shall have jurisdiction over all matters concerning the purity and adequacy of any water supply source used by any municipality, public institution or water company for obtaining water, the safety of any distributing plant and system for public health purposes, the adequacy of methods used to assure water purity, and such other matters relating to the construction and operation of such distributing plant and system as may affect public health. The chapter further provides for public drinking water supply emergency; water supply plans; imposition of civil penalties for violations of certain drinking water laws and regulations; residential Water-Saving Advisory Board; sale of bottled water by water company or municipality; water service to a school administration building from a well; state grants for water facilities; delineation of public water supply management areas; water utility coordinating committees. Membership; the Water Planning Council; list designating sources or potential sources of water that require protection; investigation of water or ice supply; carcass of animal in water supply; pollution of drinking water; pollution of drinking water; monitoring of public water supplies for organic chemicals; installation of vinyl-lined pipe restricted; installation of asbestos cement pipe restricted; cemetery not to be within one-half mile of reservoir; bathing in and pollution of reservoirs; and interstate waters used for drinking water supply.
