Notwithstanding this prohibition, a permit may be issued under the provisions of these Regulations in respect of any animal required to be imported or introduced into the FSM for: (a) the purpose of research or experiment to improve the quality of animals in the FSM and the products to be derived therefrom; or (b) the purpose of any zoological garden or display approved by the Secretary. Schedule III specifies, amongst others: (a) any snake of any species; (b) any living stage of any venomous reptile, venomous amphibian, venomous fish or venomous invertebrate; (d) monkeys, parraots and other specified birds; (c) any other animal that the President may specify as likely to become a nuisance or to cause injury or damage.
