"Pesticides" are defined in section 3. The Pesticide Board, established under section 4, may: (a) register pesticides; (b) determine conditions in the manufacture, trade or use of pesticides for the protection of plant material, public health, and the environment; (c) advise the Licensing Authority on the granting of licences relating to pest control services and trade and manufacturing licences under the Licences Act; (d) perform other functions with respect to advising, reporting and training (sect. 6). The Minister shall appoint an officer of the Ministry as Registrar of Pesticides (sect. 8). Pesticides specified in Schedule 1 are registered pesticides for purposes of this Act. Paragraph 2 of section 9 lists particulars to be included in an application for the registration of a pesticide.
