Permits or approved pest management plans are required for the application of pesticides to bodies of water or land (sect. 6). Restrictions on applying, storing, transporting or possessing a pesticide is found in section 7. Other sections deal with procedures for inspection, seizure and prevention, the powers of the administator, responsible to the Minister. Section 15 deals with the appeals to the Environmental Appeal Board, and section 17 deals with the Pesticide Control Committee. Offences and power to make regulations are also outlined. The Minister is given the power, inter alia, to restrict or prohibit the sale, use, etc. of a pesticide if he is satisfied that an unreasonable adverse effect may result from its use or from the manner in which it is applied, etc. (sect. 16).
