Resumen The purpose of the present Act is to regulate and control the use, distribution and handling of pesticides. Section 3 establishes that no person shall sell or otherwise supply to any person a pesticide that does not meet the standards prescribed by the regulations in respect of: a) registration, where registration is required; b) packaging and labelling; or c) efficacy in relation to the purpose for which it was manufactured or made. The text – consisting of 27 sections – deals, inter alia, with the following matters: prohibition against certain uses of pesticides, prohibition against applying pesticides into body of water without permit, requirement with respect to keeping of pesticides, prohibition against keeping of pesticides in certain containers, prohibition against disposal of pesticides or containers, prohibition against cleansing of pesticide apparatus, prohibition against selling or applying pesticide without licence permit, power of minister to order destruction of contaminated property, appeal, inspectors and offences and penalties.
